Judges in Light of Leviticus 5 (and the gospel too)

 

I promise (rashly)

I will 

never break

    my word.

Intent sure.

Heart steadfast.

    (but full of deceit, desperately wicked)

Sincerest promise

    no more than

    (fickle intent of a moment)

I'm opposite of

    Immutable.

A God who

    does not change.

Humanity defined by

    shift and switch

            wane and age.

Sand dunes.

One foolish vow away

        from the Jepthah I disdain.

Cautionary tale

        reckon and consider:

When there's no king in the land,

        selfish eyes determine Right.

        (and lead to worthless death)

    Wholly forgetting

    holy remedy

    exists already.

Anticipating sins I 

    stumble into.

Words hasty,

        He hears.

Actions foolish, misguided,

        Jireh foresees.

Blood applied steadfast

        Once. 

        For all.

Solution set before me:

Atonement

        Perfect accord.

        Right Relationship.

Sweet communion with him prepared.

He is the better Promise.

Come.

Taste.

See.

The Cross is a coronation.

The King reigns in the land.
